I aimed to construct a building that would be as airy as what was described above, one that would make its vast and sunny place comfortable, like simply putting on a Coppola hat.
The architecture that has little impact on the ground and the landscape, not only allows the value of the historical and natural environment of Siracusa remain intact, but its idea also constitutes a feature that enhances this resort.
So that the foundation would not disrupt the ground and the ecosystem, we adopted “Piloti structure”, (raised-floor structure), similar to that of the Antarctic Base, as well as increased the weight of the building itself by linking the entire building. By raising the slabs from the ground, we further improved ventilation without disrupting the ecosystem.

・Roof
The eaves of its roof change, depending on the the program.
As the sunshine of this place is strong, many of the visitors during the day, tour the building having to avoid the sun by walking from one shady area to another. By creating shades, a buffer zone that connected the interior and the exterior was achieved.

・Structure
So as not to disrupt the ground and the ecosystem, we adopted the “Piloti structure”, (raised-floor structure), for the foundation, like that of the Antarctic Base, as well as increased the weight of the building itelf by linking the entire building. ・Program
Not only are the surroundings of the building blessed by the sea, they are also blessed by the Nature of land.
By placing the lighthouse in the circular area that constitutes the center, the users, while using the builing, can commune with the environment surrounding it.
Moreover, by surrounding the perimeter of the builing, its users will not be exposed to the glare from the lighthouse, as well as shielded from the weathering, such as the sea breeze from the lighthouse and its graffiti.

・Sustainable energy
Although it is limited, the light from the lighthouse at night will be absorbed by the building whose roof is equipped with solar power.

コッポラ帽のようにただそこに被せただけで、広大で日差しの強いこの場所を快適にさせる、そんな軽やかな建築を目指した。
地面や景観に対し影響力の少ない建築は、シラクーサの歴史的、自然環境の価値を損ねないだけでなく、その思想がこのリゾートの特徴となる。
基礎は地面と生態系を分断しないよう、南極観測基地のような基礎を採用し、全棟を連結することで自重を重くした。スラブを地面から上げることで生態系を分断せず、さらに風通しが良くなるようにした。

・屋根
シチリア島の日差しは強く、多くの観光客は日中日陰を伝いながら見学をしていた。日陰を作り出すことで、室内と外部空間をつなぐ緩衝地帯となっている。
また庇はプログラムによって変化をつけている。

・構造
基礎は地面と生態系を分断しないよう、観測基地のようなピロティシステムを採用し、全棟を連結することで自重を重くした。スラブを床から上げることで生態系を分断せず、さらに風通しが良くなるように配慮した。

・プログラム
周囲は海だけでなく、陸地の自然にも恵まれている。
灯台を中心とした円状に配置にすることで、利用者は建物を利用しながら囲われた環境に触れ合うことができる。
さらに、周囲を囲うことで、灯台の潮風や落書きなどの風化を防ぐとともに、利用者にとって灯台の光がまぶしくないようになっている。

・持続可能エネルギー
太陽光発電を屋根に搭載。夜間も若干ながら灯台の光を吸収する。
